Software that closes the gaps in your operations

Your business may already have the right tools and still depend on spreadsheets, repeated data entry or manual steps to connect the work. Evolute develops software and automations around those gaps, with a clear understanding of the systems and people involved. From a focused script to a desktop application or a connection between business systems, we help turn a practical requirement into a solution your team can use and maintain.

When to consider custom software

Custom development can help when existing software doesn’t adequately support a process specific to your business, or when some steps still have to be done manually.

This is for you if…

  • You have a well-established process that off-the-shelf software only partly covers.
  • Your employees lose time re-entering or copying data between your systems.
  • You already use Microsoft 365 and want to automate approvals, notifications or document processing.
  • You want a tool that will grow with your business, maintained by a team that knows it.

What it isn’t

  • Something every business needs: if a configuration change or an existing integration already meets your requirements, we’ll tell you.
  • A project delivered and forgotten: the arrangements for maintenance, future changes and support are clarified before delivery.
  • An unclear arrangement: usage rights, ownership and source-code delivery are defined in the project agreement.

Start with the problem worth solving

Custom development works best when its purpose is specific. We examine the current workflow, the tools already available and the result you need.

  • Someone enters the same information in three places.

  • An approval gets lost in email.

  • A report takes several exports and an afternoon to prepare.

  • Your systems don’t exchange data: you have to export, copy and paste to move from one to the next.

  • A homegrown tool exists, but the person who built it is gone and nobody dares touch it.

The appropriate answer may be a configuration change, an existing integration, a small automation or a larger application. That assessment helps establish a useful scope before development begins.

Where custom development can help

  • Desktop applications for specific tasks

Give employees a dedicated tool for work that is difficult to manage through spreadsheets or a general-purpose application. We develop desktop software with the screens, rules and database connections the task requires.

  • Microsoft 365 workflows

Connect approvals, notifications, documents and other recurring work using Power Automate and Microsoft 365. We define the steps, exceptions and responsibilities before building the automation.

  • Administrative scripts and utilities

Reduce repetitive technical work such as account administration, reporting or system checks. PowerShell scripts and supporting tools can make these tasks easier to repeat and review.

  • Connections between your systems

Move information between applications through supported APIs and database connections. We define what data moves, which system is authoritative and how to handle changes or failures. Looking for an existing 3CX or CRM integration? Explore our integrations.

Technology chosen for the job

  • .NET
  • WinForms

How a project takes shape

  1. Understand the work

We review the process with the people who use it, identify the information involved and clarify the requirements and constraints.

  2. Define the solution

We establish the functions, business rules, integrations and delivery stages. The proposal identifies the work included and the decisions that remain.

  3. Build and review

Development progresses in agreed stages so you can review the behaviour and raise questions while the solution takes shape. Changes that affect scope are discussed before they are added.

  4. Prepare for use

Delivery can include deployment, documentation and training appropriate to the project. We also clarify the arrangements for maintenance, future changes and ongoing support.

AI where it has a defined role

Document summaries, classification and search can be useful additions to a workflow. We assess the task, the information involved and the available providers before recommending an approach.

More on AI for Business
  • The project defines what the AI can access, how its output is checked and where human review remains necessary.

  • These functions are scoped around a business use rather than added by default.

Our commitments to you

  • In French or English

We work with you in the language of your choice, from analysis through support.

  • A written proposal

The proposal describes the planned work, delivery stages and billing method. The agreement also specifies the rights to the delivered code.

  • Visible progress

Development progresses in agreed stages so you can review the behaviour and raise questions while the solution takes shape.

  • Follow-up after go-live

The proposal or agreement specifies the support and maintenance included, so you know what is covered and how additional work is handled.

What determines the scope?

The main factors are the functions and screens required, the complexity of the business rules, the systems being connected and any data that needs to be transferred.

Functions and screens
The number of screens, business rules and steps to automate. A targeted script and a full application don’t require the same effort.
Systems being connected
The number of applications to connect and how to access them: APIs, Microsoft Graph or a database.
Data to transfer
The amount of data to bring over from your files or legacy systems, and the cleanup required.
Deployment and maintenance
Deployment, hosting, licensing, documentation and the maintenance arrangements the project needs.

We use these details to prepare a written proposal with a defined scope.

Frequently asked questions

Can you improve a tool we already use?

We can assess an existing application or workflow. The available source code, documentation, access and licensing help determine whether extending it is practical and what work would be required.

Can we start with a small project?

Yes. A focused workflow or utility can be a useful starting point. We can identify a first scope that delivers a usable result and discuss later phases separately.

Who owns the custom software and source code?

Usage rights, ownership and source-code delivery are defined in the project agreement. Third-party software and libraries remain subject to their own licences.

Can you connect Microsoft 365 to another application?

We can assess the available connectors and APIs, including Microsoft Graph. The result depends on the functions and permissions each platform makes available, as well as any licensing requirements.

Is maintenance included after delivery?

The proposal or agreement specifies the support and maintenance included. Ongoing maintenance and new features should have a clear scope so you know what is covered and how additional work is handled.

What should we prepare for the first conversation?

Bring an example of the current process, the systems involved and the result you want. Sample forms, screenshots or reports can help explain the need. We can work through the technical requirements together.
