Web applications that organize your daily work

When requests, records and updates are spread across email and spreadsheets, keeping work moving becomes a task of its own. Evolute builds browser-based applications that bring the process into one place. Your employees, customers or partners can access the information and functions relevant to their role, with workflows shaped around the way your business operates.

Design the process before the screens

A useful application needs more than a list of features. It needs clear answers to practical questions, and we work through them with you before they become assumptions in the software.

  • Who starts the work?

  • What information is required?

  • Who can view or change it?

  • What happens when something is missing or needs approval?

  • How does the next person know it is their turn?

A website, a web application, or both?

A website primarily helps visitors discover your business, understand your offer and take action. A web application gives people an environment in which to complete tasks and manage information. A project can include both: a public website may introduce your services while a connected portal supports existing customers. The right scope depends on the work people need to accomplish.

This is for you if…

  • Your customers, suppliers or employees need secure access to their own information.
  • You manage requests, records or inventory that go beyond what a spreadsheet can handle.
  • You want to connect your application to your existing software or Microsoft 365.
  • You need an up-to-date view to follow your activities and make decisions.

What it isn’t

  • A public website that presents your business: that’s our website design service.
  • Desktop software or administrative scripts: see our custom development service.
  • A project left on its own after launch: maintenance and future development are clarified so the application has a practical plan.

Give each person a useful place to work

Internal business applications

Manage requests, operational records, inventory information or other recurring work through a shared application. Give your team a consistent way to enter information, follow progress and find what they need.

Customer and partner portals

Provide a dedicated space to submit information, access documents or follow the status of a request. Functions and permissions can be defined for customers, suppliers, employees or other user groups.

Dashboards and reporting

Bring relevant information together in a view designed for the people making decisions. We define the data sources, calculations and update requirements so users understand what the dashboard represents.

APIs and connected workflows

Connect the application to other systems through available APIs, including Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Graph where appropriate. We can also develop and document APIs when another system needs to interact with your application.

Connected to your existing environment

  • Laravel
  • PHP
  • Livewire
  • Tailwind CSS
  • MySQL
  • REST APIs
  • .NET
  • Microsoft Graph

From the first workflow to deployment

  1. Define the users and priorities

We identify the people using the application, the work it needs to support and the most useful first scope.

  2. Plan the experience and data

We map the screens, permissions, records, integrations and business rules. Early review helps confirm how the application should behave.

  3. Develop in agreed stages

You review working parts of the application as development progresses. We use those reviews to check the agreed requirements and discuss changes.

  4. Prepare for operation

Deployment includes the arrangements defined for hosting, access, documentation and training. Maintenance and future development are clarified so the application has a practical plan after launch.

With AI

Your web applications can include AI features, within the limits you set for your data.

More on AI for Business
  • Summaries of files, requests or conversations right inside the application.

  • Sorting incoming requests based on their content.

  • Search across your documents and data that respects each user’s roles and access.

Our commitments to you

  • In French or English

We work with you in the language of your choice, from analysis through maintenance.

  • A written proposal

The proposal describes the planned work, delivery stages and billing method. The agreement also sets out the rights to the delivered code.

  • Reviews as development progresses

You review working parts of the application as it takes shape. We use those reviews to check the agreed requirements and discuss changes.

  • A plan after launch

The agreement defines any included support or maintenance. Additional features and changes to connected systems are handled through the arrangements agreed for the application.

What shapes the project?

The scope depends on the workflows, user roles, integrations, data migration and reporting involved. A small application with one clear process has different requirements from a portal serving several groups.

Workflows and user roles
The number of screens, roles and business rules, and the different groups of users to plan for.
Integrations
Connections to your existing software, Microsoft 365 or third-party services, and the APIs to build.
Data migration and reporting
Bringing over data from spreadsheets or a legacy application, and the dashboards or reports the application needs to produce.
Hosting and maintenance
Hosting by Evolute or in an appropriate client environment, third-party subscriptions, access controls, backups and the maintenance arrangements.

We can discuss a first phase and define what belongs in later development. The proposal makes those boundaries clear.

Frequently asked questions

Can you take over an existing web application?

We can assess it. The source code, documentation, hosting environment, dependencies and available access help determine the work required and whether maintaining the current application is practical.

Will the application work on phones and tablets?

We plan the interface around the devices and tasks included in the project. Some workflows need a different mobile presentation, so we identify those requirements during design and validation.

Can different users have different permissions?

Yes. Roles and access rules can be part of the application. We define what each group can view or change and validate those rules as part of the agreed scope.

Can we host it ourselves?

Hosting can be arranged with Evolute or in an appropriate client environment, subject to the application’s requirements. Responsibilities for deployment, access, backups and maintenance need to be defined.

Who owns the application and source code?

Ownership, usage rights and source-code delivery are specified in the project agreement. Third-party components remain subject to their own licences.

Can the application include AI features?

We can assess functions such as document summaries, classification or search. The intended use, data access, provider, verification needs and operating costs must be considered as part of the project.

What happens after launch?

The agreement defines any included support or maintenance. Additional features, changes to connected systems and ongoing maintenance are handled through the arrangements agreed for the application.

Describe the workflow your application needs to support

Tell us who will use it, what they need to accomplish and where the current process becomes difficult. We can help turn that information into a practical first scope.
